The chairman of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon intends to strengthen the parties of the left around the Socialists so as to get a good score in the early parliamentary elections, which he forecasts for next year. This intention was made public by Igor Dodon in a program on RTR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said that even if the November 30 parliamentary elections are validated, early elections will anyway take place next year. “This government will not stay long. They must either stop stealing, but I don’t think they will do it, or must substantially increase the pensions and social benefits, which they won’t do either. So, we will have early elections by next summer. That’s why we need to strengthen the left forces of Moldova,” stated Dodon.

The Socialist leader also said that the Party “Patria” banks a lot on this plan. “I met with Renato Usatyi in Moscow and spoke about Moldova with him. He surely does not agree with what happened. We look at the Party “Patria” as at a potential partner, as at the Party of Communists. We need partners on the left as this government will not stay long,” stated Dodon.

In the same program, he said that they will open by a special center with jurists in every district center. The jurists will help the people solve their problems. By two Socialist lawmakers will go to every district to have meetings with the people. “We polled the largest number of voters because we worked at lot at local level. That’s why we will continue to work there so as to be closer to the people,” stated the Socialist leader.

Igor Dodon reiterated their plans to amend the Constitution so that the head of state is elected by the people directly. This option is supported by the Liberal Democratic Party and the Liberal Party, which are pro-European parties.
