President Igor Dodon will have a meeting with the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski on March 30. The information was confirmed for IPN by the President’s adviser on reintegration Vasilii Sova.
The official said the agenda is being negotiated. The meeting will take place on the right side of the Nistru River and forms part of the informal consultations.
The Transnistrian press reported that Igor Dodon invited Vadim Krasnoselski to Chisinau to discuss the Moldovan-Ukrainian customs control on the border with the Transnistrian region. The region’s administration considers the joint Moldovan-Ukrainian customs control will destroy the economy of Transnistria.
“A serious blow was given to the export of our republic in 2006. By setting up joint customs posts, a blow will be now given to the import into Transnistria. The minimal losses are estimated at almost US$40 million, not speaking about the loss of thousands of jobs and destruction of the class of small entrepreneurs,” Krasnoselski stated in a press briefing on March 23.
