There are no divergences as to the implementation of the eight points of the Berlin Protocol at the level of the Government, Parliament and the Presidential Office, but there are different positions as to the political solution to the Transnistrian conflict. Only when a common concept is agreed on the right bank will this be proposed to Tiraspol and discussed in the 5+2 format, President Igor Dodon stated in a news conference given to sum up the results achieved by him during his presidency so far, IPN reports.

At the start of last year, there was created a trilateral platform for settling the Transnistrian conflict. According to Igor Dodon, meetings between senior state officials haven’t been staged since the launch, but there were held working meetings of advisers.

“We agreed that as long as a common formula is not identified, we will not start the public discussions and Ping-Pong games as this will disadvantage the process,” said President Igor Dodon. According to him, if a common concept is not identified, a break will be taken and the subject will be raised against after the parliamentary elections.

Igor Dodon also said that he will have a meeting with the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski at the end of August or the start of September.
