President-elect Igor Dodon told the crowd that met him before the investiture that he will not concede and will not forget the promises he made in the election period, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon thanked those attending for the support provided to him in time. He noted that his victory in the presidential elections is everyone’s victory. “For the first time in the last 20 years, the Moldovans were able to choose the President themselves. We struggled for this right together with you so that the people could elect the President and the President bore responsibility before the people,” he said.

The President-elect also said that a lot of things are to be done and it won’t be easy as the parliamentary alliance thinks not like the President and most of the people. “I solemnly promise that I will not let you down. What the people want and what we all want is stability, a bright future for our children, higher salaries and order in the country. We can ensure this only if we are together,” he stated.

Igor Dodon addressed those who voted for other candidates in the presidential elections, calling on them to leave the personal and geopolitical ambitions and the political statements aside. “I will do my best for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to be more united,” he stated.

Igor Dodon noted that the country’s neutrality is holy and, even if people of different nationalities live here, they are all citizens of Moldova and should be proud of the country. “In all these years, I was near you, including by meetings at the local level. Together we marched on streets and in squares in districts. I promise that I will continue to be near you and that your will see the President not only on TV. Once in 3-4 months, I will go to each district of Moldova to listen to those who need assistance. Once in 3-4 months, I will report on what I did and what I will yet do,” he promised.

According to the police, more than 1,000 people came together near the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau to support Igor Dodon. Several days ago, a protest against Igor Dodon was announced, but the protesters were not allowed to come near.
