Some of Moldova’s ambassadors abroad are attempting to hamper the dialogue of our government with Brussels and misinform the European capitals, President Igor Dodon stated in a new episode of the program “Resident Responds”, IPN reports.
“I will give no names now as they know themselves. At least three-four ambassadors who deal with Moldova’s relations with the EU go to different institutions, block projects that were already launched and say that money should not be given to the current government,” stated Igor Dodon, adding that an ambassador should develop the bilateral relations, not to promote a party or another.
On the other hand, Igor Dodon noted, most of Moldova’s ambassadors working in the EU went to rest there and indicators for assessing their work should be set. If they do not meet these, they should be dismissed. “Many of them feel like they live at a sanatorium there. (…) Most of them do nothing and the relations with this country and trade worsen. No investors are attracted,” he stated.
In the February 12 meeting of the Government, six ambassadors of Moldova were recalled at the suggestion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
