President Igor Dodon said pressure is now being exerted on him so that he vacates office. He noted a vacuum will be created this way and there will be no one who could sign important decisions for the country. He added he received very clear signals to sign the Parliament dissolution decree, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon told the press in the Parliament Building that all the messages and criticism against him and his family should be regarded from the angle of the verticality shown by him. The Democrats are preparing a number of events and are staging a number of short films. He and his family are under attack and criminal cases against them started to be prepared. “But I will not give up,” stated President Dodon.

As to the conditions presented by Andrian Candu, which he allegedly put forward to the Democratic Party for consideration, Igor Dodon said these proposals were transmitted by the leader of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc to Russia two years ago for having the criminal cases against him dropped. “I’m ready to endure everything so that things end well,” he stated.

Igor Dodon praised the MPs of the PSRM and the Bloc ACUM for their courage to come to the Parliament Building to elect the legislature’s leadership and to suggest candidates for the Cabinet.

PSRM MP Ion Ceban said the Socialists are signing a temporary political agreement with the Bloc ACUM on the de-oligarchization of the Republic of Moldova and the restoration of constitutionality in the country. The document will be made public soon.
