President Igor Dodon does not rule out the possibility that he will top the list of candidates of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) for this year’s legislative elections. The statement was made in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.
“I do not want to exclude anything. At least the legislation does not ban this and the Presidents headed the lists of political parties in a number of election campaigns,” stated Igor Dodon.
He considers the outcome of the 2018 elections will be good for the Republic of Moldova. “We should create a pro-Moldova parliamentary majority. We will yet see if this consists of one party or several parties. Political consensus is needed. We should leave the geopolitical struggle aside and deal with the internal affairs of Moldova,” stated the President.
According to Igor Dodon, the pro-presidential party, the PSRM, has real changes of winning a majority of seats in the parliamentary elections.
