The conditions in which the US$ 500 million loan is to be provided by the Russian Federation are comparable to those in which Moldova takes out loans from the Western partners, stated President Igor Dodon, who noted that the negotiations on the first US$ 300 million tranche will be held next month already, IPN reports.
President Dodon said that while in Moscow, he and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed Moldova’s request to be given a loan for large infrastructure projects that are to be implemented starting with next year. The decision was agreed in principle and the Ministries of Finance of the two countries will have talks on the issue next January. The agreement is to be ratified by Parliament next February.
The lending conditions are similar to those in which Moldova’s Western partners, such as Romania, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, release loans to our country, stated Igor Dodon.
