Igor Dodon: Ruling alliance sinks, rats hurry to leave ship

“The Alliance for European Integration is rotten inside. It is a conjunctural alliance based on personal interests only,” said the Communist Party's candidate for mayor general of Chisinau Igor Dodon, Info-Prim Neo reports. Igor Dodon stated the recent scandals, challenges, mutual accusations and defections from the component parties point to the weakness of the alliance, which, according to him, is close to falling apart. “After the ruling alliance distributed the main positions, it repeatedly violated the legislation, impoverished the people and now started to sink. The rats hurry to leave the sinking ships. In 2001, the country was rescued by the Communists. We will rescue the country again now, in 2011,” said Igor Dodon. The statement was made public on May 3, after the news conference given by the first vice president of the Liberal Democratic Party Mihai Godea. He announced he will be running for the post of mayor of Chisinau independently. He did not specify if he intends to leave the PLDM or not.
