Igor Dodon was reelected as the chairman of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) in the party’s 13th ordinary congress held at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” on November 29. The congress involved about 2,000 delegates and invitees from the country and representatives of political parties from a number of states, including Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Germany and Romania, IPN reports.

In his speech, Igor Dodon said that in 2011 he promised that the PSRM will become an important political force and these words were then treated with distrust. Today everyone sees and understands that the party became the most powerful force in Moldova and this fact is the result of assiduous work done during the past four years.

The Socialists’ leader reiterated that the current government must be replaced at any cost and as soon as possible because the country is close to economic and state collapse. In the immediate future the party will be intensively preparing for early parliamentary elections and there is a big probability that this will take place in the first half of 2016. “We are to only obtain all the instruments needed to implement our government program and to save the country. Our closest objective is to completely defeat the corrupt Euro-unionists and thieves,” he stated.

The congress adopted a resolution saying that after six years of irresponsible and anti-social government, Moldova is on the edge of a precipice and thus the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova aims to become an alternative against chaos, betrayal, misappropriation and disaster.

There was also adopted the PSRM’s program for sustainably and stably developing Moldova, which contains ten steps aimed at building a powerful state. Among these steps are “Moldova without oligarchs and corruption”, “Moldova a neural state”, “Moldova a leader by the development pace”, Eurasian integration – a guarantee for the country’s development and resolution of social problems”, and “Moldova a country with a modern and accessible health protection system”.
