The leader of the Party of Regions of Moldova Alexandru Kalinin said the Party of Socialists that declares itself pro-Russian actually promotes persons who also have Romanian nationality as candidates for MP and not only. According to Kalinin, President Igor Dodon, who is the informal leader of the Socialists, pledged to table a legislative initiative that would ban persons who hold the nationality of other states from holding public posts, but he didn’t do it and allowed persons with Romanian nationality to be put on the lists of the Party of Socialists.

In a news conference at IPN, the leader of the Party of Regions said Igor Dodon approved at least six candidates for MP on the PSRM’s lists who hold Romanian nationality besides the Moldovan one. “This is a matter of statehood and now I ask Dodon: he possibly prepares the union with Romania if he will have so many people with Romanian nationality in Parliament? The citizens of the Republic of Moldova should learn this lesson and should understand that the Party of Regions is the only party that keeps the statehood, is an authentic pro-Russian party and is a party that will settle the Transnistrian conflict by federalizing Moldova and will declare Russian the second official language,” stated Alexandr Kalinin.

He noted the party will inform the Russian administration about the false pro-Russians in Chisinau and will also inform the Gagauz people who massively vote for Igor Dodon at the presidential elections. “If these Socialists decided to be Romanians, they should renounce the nationality of the Republic of Moldova and should go and live in Romania. Moldova’s people do not need such traitors in Parliament. The Romanians who run on the lists of Dodon and other actions taken by the so-called President confirm the hypothesis that the PSRM actually does not want to win these elections,” stated Alexandr Kalinin.

The party’s leader noted that he daily travels to localities, but has met no Socialist activist there as it is hard for these to explain the presence of Romanians on the Party of Socialists’ lists of candidate for MP.

Alexandr Kalinin also said that Igor Dodon wants to engage the brothers from the Transnistrian region, the patriot veterans from Balti and Comrat into a conflict after the election. “They have no moral right to call on the veterans to take arms in their hands only because this thing is wanted by Dodon and the party of liars. If we have to struggle and if the Socialists consider themselves patriots, let’s insist on the federalization of the Republic of Moldova and that Russian should become the official language. Let’s insist on the entry into the Eurasian Union, but we should no way struggle for a lying president and for the PSRM that promotes unionists as candidates for MP,” stated Alexandr Kalinin.
