President Igor Dodon said he will sign the decrees to dismiss ministers, but will not accept the new candidates announced by the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc in a press briefing on December 19. In a posting on a social networking site, President Dodon wrote that the Democratic Party tried to cause a big surprise before the holidays, but he does not think that the people will welcome it as positive, IPN reports.
“I saw in the list of candidates several notorious names that discredited themselves politically. Some of them showed inconsistency and lack of professionalism and regrettable opportunism. The place of some of these is in jail, not in the post of Deputy Prime Minister,” wrote Igor Dodon.
According to the President, the parliamentary alliance makes a serious mistake by this reform. It is evident that the Government becomes more politicized now. The algorithm is visible and the people’s dissatisfaction will grow. “I’m confident that the people understand the subtleties of this political move and will show their disapproval now and especially in the next parliamentary elections,” stated Igor Dodon.
Six members of the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Pavel Filip will be replaced and one more post of Deputy Prime Minister, for European Integration, will be introduced, the president of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc announced after the meeting of the ruling coalition on December 19.
