President Igor Dodon announced that the period during which the Moldovans who violated the period of stay in Russia, but are yet on the territory of the Russian Federation cane legalize their stay was extended until May 12, IPN reports.
According to the presidential press service, the decision to extend the deadline from March 20 to May 12 was approved on March 24 following President Igor Dodon’s meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow on March 17.
“According to the latest data, about 10,000 Moldovans performed the legalization procedure by March 20. I call on everyone to go to the local subdivisions of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain a legal status of stay in the Russian Federation,” said the President.
Igor Dodon also informed that the website where the citizens of Moldova with bans can verify if they were pardoned or not became functional. According to the President, over 17,000 Moldovan migrants were granted amnesty.
