Ion Paduraru’s chances to become Prime Minister depend on the lawmakers’ wish to avoid early legislative elections, the Party of Socialists’ head Igor Dodon stated in the talk show “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
“I don’t know him, but I think he has more chances than Sturza had. Everything now depends on the number of MPs who will want to avoid the early elections,” said the Socialists’ leader.
Igor Dodon noted that the Socialists will not vote for Paduraru as they want early elections, but will not join in an impeachment procedure either. “Initially, we insisted that Timofti should be dismissed, but now we support him. He has sins, but, given that he didn’t nominate Plahotniuc for the premiership, we will not vote for his dismissal. We didn’t organize a protest in support of Timofti because such events must be staged by civil society. Our MPs discussed with the people protesting on the street,” he stated.
