The chairman of the Party of Socialists (PCRM) called on the population not to vote for the candidates of the PCRM, PDM, PLDM and of the PL on June 14. According to Igor Dodon, the hearing on the stealing of money from three banks, held in Parliament last week, was a show aimed at calming the things stirred up by the protests down, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Igor Dodon said that Moldova now goes through the most difficult period in its history as it has a corrupt government, its economy is in recession, while its banking system is close to bankruptcy. “They deride the people. The coming days, the National Bank will allocate another 4.5 billion lei to the three banks so as to allow continuing stealing from banks,” he stated.

The leader of the PSRM noted that the Socialist parliamentary group initiated the procedure and will insist that the National Bank governor Dorin Dragutanu, director of the National Anticorruption Center Viorel Chetraru and Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin should be dismissed and prosecuted.

“I call on the people not to keep silent. We must not be afraid and must protest together. We support and are ready to offer assistance for all the protests against the current government,” said the politician. Igor Dodon reiterated that the country can get rid of the oligarchs only by early elections.
