Igor Dodon: Moldova could buy Russian gas for $315-317 per thousand cubic meters

Moldova could purchase Russian gas at the price of $315-317 per thousand cubic meters, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon said Thursday. Russia’s gas giant Gazprom has not accepted these figures officially. In the fourth quarter of 2008, Moldova bought the Russian gas for $278 per thousand cubic meters, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Igor Dodon, though Moldova will purchase the natural gas at a higher price, the end-users will not be affected. “If the prices of oil products continue to fall during February-March, the price of the Russian gas imported by Moldova could be lower. It will be fixed in accordance with the contract in spring,” Igor Dodon said.
