Incumbent President Igor Dodon intends to visit all the districts and villages where the people voted massively for him in the presidential elections. Today he went to southern Moldova - to Taraclia, Vulcănești, Ceadîr Lunga sand Comrat. He is accompanied by Prime Minister Ion Chicu on his visit, IPN reports.
In a posting on Facebook, Igor Dodon said he visited “St. Archangels Mikhail and Gavriil” Church in Albota, Taraclia, which today celebrates the name day. He congratulated the locals on the holiday.
Then, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the founding of the volostea (council) of Taraclia, together with Prime Minister Ion Chicu, the head of Taraclia district Ivan Paslari and Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Moldova Yevgeni Stefanov Stoytchev, he took part in the ceremony to unveil the monument to Ivan Berov – former mayor of Taraclia.
Igor Dodon told the locals that he will continue to make effort to develop the country’s localities.
In the presidential runoff, Igor Dodon gained 42.25% of the vote, which wasn’t enough for gaining a new term in office. He will be replaced in office by Maia Sandu.
