The chairman of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon, who runs for the office of President, calls on the political parties and civil society to combine forces to combat and counteract any attempt to rig the October 30 presidential elections, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Igor Dodon said the national process of verifying the electoral registers at polling places will start on October 16-17. Representatives of the PSRM will go to the over 2 000 polling places all over the county to detect additional persons put on the voter rolls, including dead persons. For the purpose, a request was made to the Central Election Commission to ensure the proper functioning of the electoral offices and polling places and to make sure that the employees of polling places are ready to present the lists to formal and informal groups of people, in accordance with the law.

“Starting with October 16 and until the end of the election campaign, by when changes can be made in the lists, we will mobilize over 10,000 people who will be involved in this process. The team of jurists of the Party of Socialists prepared instructions that can be used by any person interested in the voting process and calls on everyone, from the left to the right, to become involved in this process. We realize that today only the ruling regime can, one way or another, stage possible falsifications before and on the election day,” stated Igor Dodon.

The candidate for President expressed his conviction that both the candidates running in elections and the people want the elections to be fair, democratic and free, noting that impediments have been already witnessed as regards the voting abroad, the mass media and the administrative resources, which can influence the election outcome.
