Igor Dodon is a non-visited President because, since he took office in Moldova, he has received no important visits from envoys, diplomats or Heads of State, executive director of the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul” Igor Munteanu stated in the program “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Igor Munteanu noted that President Dodon represents exclusively his supporters who vote for closer relations with the Russian Federation and does not care about what other citizens think. “Igor Dodon has never been the President of all the citizens, as he repeatedly promised to be. From institutional viewpoint, I think he represented a kind of “Trojan horse” inside the political system of the Republic of Moldova, serving the interests of foreign players and trying to build the success of the future parliamentary elections,” he stated. According to Igor Munteanu, Igor Dodon didn’t detach himself from the Party of Socialists and continues to campaign on the people’s money inside the presidential administration.
The executive director of “Viitorul” said Igor Dodon considers he is the only legal and legitimate institution in Moldova. This means that he does not know what institutional dialogue and cooperation are.
Referring to the results of one year in office as President, executive director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives Vlad Kulminski said Igor Dodon is no longer able to rise to the level of the position of President. In the election campaign, the President promoted ideas that are not realistic, like the scarping of the Association Agreement with the EU. “After the election campaign, Igor Dodon could become the President of everyone. He should have modified this narrative that divides society into two and should have promoted a real agenda for which he was chosen,” stated Vlad Kulminski, adding that the agenda also included the corrupt state institutions.
Vlad Kulminski said he saw nothing in the President’s work that would have referred to the banking frauds, the cleaning of the legal system and the government system, the real problems faced now by the Moldovans. “President Dodon didn’t seriously struggle against the government, even if this is exactly what he promised to do in the election campaign,” he stated.
On December 12, Igor Dodon presented the results of one year in office as President of the Republic of Moldova.
