President Igor Dodon invited his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis to pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova. An official letter addressed to Klaus Iohannis was handed over to Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ionita during a discussion, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said responsible and constructive communication should be established with the President of Romania.

“I’m convinced that we can overcome the asperities and difficulties that can appear in the relations between states or institutions only by repeated discussions and I bank on the fact that the President of Romania is ready to accept a dialogue in Chisinau, in any period suitable to him,” Igor Dodon wrote on a social networking site after the meeting with Daniel Ionita.

The President assured the Romanian diplomat that the Moldovan-Romanian relations are and will remain fundamental for the Republic of Moldova given the neighborhood, the common historical events and the cultural affinities. According to him, the two independent and sovereign states should identify new opportunities of respectful cooperation that would be beneficial to the citizens.
