The President of Moldova Igor Dodon said he will accept the resignations of the ministers removed by the PDM and will then analyze the proposed candidates. On his Facebook page, President Dodon wrote he was surprised by the government’s nominations and has a series of questions as to the candidates’ competence, professionalism and political balance, IPN reports.
He said that Prime Minister Pavel Filip informed him about the Cabinet reshuffle yesterday and told him about more candidates. For his part, he told the Premier that such replacements are possible only if the candidates are chosen according to professional, not political criteria.
“My opinion is that the whole Cabinet should be changed and not long remained until this will happen, after the parliamentary elections. Until then, the executive should work as it is. As the Head of State, I have an institutional approach to the relationship with the Government by which, as I said, I will not block the activity of institutions without an acceptable reason,” wrote Igor Dodon.
He reminded that he earlier refused the candidates for minister because he had reasonable motives to do so.
