President Igor Dodon said that in the discussions he had with the leaders of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), the Democratic Party (PDM) and the bloc ACUM, he saw that these three parties are ready to have a dialogue. Earlier, such a wish didn’t exist, IPN reports.
“I saw wish to have a dialogue and I think this step forward is my personal success,” Igor Dodon stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
As to the meeting with the leader of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon said given that this party has the most of seats of MP, it should propose open and transparent negotiations with the other parties on the parliamentary platform. “For the first time, a party of the left can discuss with a party of the right and a party of the center. The PSRM got most of the seats and should present in Parliament its bills and ask who is ready to support them,” stated President Dodon. According to him, the PSRM has chances to form a parliamentary majority around itself.
Igor Dodon noted the Democratic Party announced it is ready to discuss with all the parties that entered Parliament. “They do not speak about posts. I think they will analyze things based on the behavior of other parties. I warned them I will not accept a “political salad”. I consider we need a legitimate Government and a legitimate power,” he stated.
As to the meeting with the leaders of the bloc ACUM, President Dodon said it was a rather good dialogue for a first meeting. “I saw wish to do everything possible to avoid snap elections. It is their right to want to assume overall responsibility and control the posts of Parliament Speaker and Prime Minister. They should yet understand that the package of laws they proposed cannot be debated before the election of the legislature’s administration and dialogue is needed for the purpose” he noted.
In conclusion, the President said that after the discussions he had with the leaders of the three political parties, he understood that any scenario as regards the formation of a parliamentary alliance is possible.
On March 26, President Igor Dodon had, in turn, discussions with the leaders of the three parties that won most of the seats of MP. After the discussions, the leader of the PSRM Zinaida Grecheanyi said the proposals for the senior state posts cannot be examined if negotiations with the colleagues from Parliament do not start. The president of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc stated the Democratic Party plans to form a parliamentary majority as soon as possible so as to stabilize the situation in the country, stop the uncertainty and solve people’s problems. The leaders of the bloc ACUM in the discussions reiterated their viewpoint on how to break the impasse and free the state institutions from captivity, which is by adopting the package of laws introduced into Parliament as a first step.
