President Igor Dodon informed that he will not accept Eugen Sturza for minister of defense. In a posting on Facebook, the President says that if the Government insists on the same candidate, he will reject this again, IPN reports

According to President Dodon, the National Army should be managed by a professional who knows the particularities of military management. “I asked for a military man, but the Government proposes a ‘grants boy’ and an ‘office reformist’. I cannot accept such a candidate as this is not only incompetent in the military sector, but also has a doubtful experience gained in the Filat and Leanca Cabinets,” he wrote.

Igor Dodon noted that he reserves the right to field his own candidate for this post. He said that experiments will all kinds of unionist ministers imposed by political algorithms with the Liberals and now with Leanca have been done at the Ministry of Defense for eight years. “I will be near the military in their requests to have a competent and responsible, apolitical administration,” wrote the President.

On September 12, the Democratic Party announced that it proposes the deputy chairman of the European People’s Party of Moldova Eugen Sturza for the post of minister of defense. Eugen Struza was head of the office of Iurie Leanca when the latter served as Prime Minister.
