Incumbent President Igor Dodon said there is no government coalition, but this can be formed by Maia Sandu and her supporters in Parliament, including with the participation of misters Candu, Filip and others. He noted the Socialists cannot abandon their government responsibilities today, at the start of winter, amid the pandemic and economic crisis. He recommended the opponents, if they don’t like the Chucu Government, to initiate its removal, to remove it and to choose another Prime Minister or they can organize snap parliamentary elections, but must respect the legal procedures.

Igor Dodon said the actions witnessed in Parliament today were a show of instability, chaos and hatred staged by the groups of the right. He noted he accepted the November 15 decision of the voters and didn’t protest, didn’t invite the people to the streets and didn’t block the transfer of the power to the new President somehow. “You should also behave respectfully and not use violence and destabilization as the state is above your will and the political decisions in the legislature are taken by a majority of votes, not with the fist and the cudgel,” he posted on Facebook.

Igor Dodon called on the MPs to calm down and to realize the enormous responsibility they bear. He said democracy means dialogue, not quarrels. “If you don’t like the bills, propose amendments or alternatives, go to the Constitutional Court, put off their adoption, but don’t transform Parliament into a theater of the absurd or a boxing ring.”

In today’s sitting of Parliament, a number of controversial bills were adopted amid the opposition’s protest and an in atmosphere of complete chaos.
