The leaders of the Democratic Party didn’t think that the East and the West  have such a common clear position as to the formation of the parliamentary majority, President Igor Dodon was quoted by IPN as saying in a special edition on NTV Moldova channel. According to him, something like this happened for the first time in our region given also the geopolitical struggle between Russia and the West, IPN reports.

President Dodon said many were surprised by such cooperation between the PSRM and the Bloc ACUM. He noted that up to 80% of the provisions of the cooperation agreement between the Parity of Socialists and ACUM have been already implemented.

According to Igor Dodon, if the planned march had been staged last Sunday, the situation would have been destabilized and he possessed concrete information about this and there were several groups of 10-15 people, including foreigners, who would have dealt with this. Furthermore, the police officers needed a rest as they had been on the alert during seven days. However, the march was postponed, not annulled.

President Dodon said legal possibilities should be identified to remove the chief of the Prosecutor General’s Office and to name an independent prosecutor general. “We have a common position on this with our colleagues from the parliamentary majority. There is an important moment here. I will insist that this should be a citizen of the Republic of Moldova. I’m not against specialists from other states, but when such posts are offered to foreigners, this looks more like external governing of the state,” he noted.
