The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said that by its most recent decision, the Constitutional Court confirmed that it turned into a political instrument in the hands of politicians-usurpers, when these need a political solution, bypassing the Constitution. The reaction comes after the Court declared unconstitutional the Parliament decisions by which Domnica Manole’s appointment was annulled and Boris Lupașcu was named in her place, IPN reports.

“After 2013, our country practically partially didn’t have a supreme court. The Socialist did their best to remedy this problem, but at the current state the political minority, with the support of ambassadors from the West, manages to maintain the noxious practice of the previous Constitutional Court concerning the undermining of the rule of law,” Igor Dodon says in a message disseminated through social media.

According to the Socialist leader, there will be a harsh fight in connection with the preparations for snap elections. “The West banks on the marionette political forces that it controls: Maia Sandu’s party, the party of Renato Usatyi and the party of unionists. The victory of the Western powers in the snap parliamentary elections can lead to a collapse of the Moldovan state,” said the politician, noting to prevent such a scenario, the healthy political forces should leave the old hostilities aside and combine forces so as to save Moldova.

The decision concerning the unconstitutionality of the two Parliament decisions was passed by the Constitutional Court on April 27 following a challenge filed by PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco and PPPDA MP Dinu Plîngău.
