By its judgement to suspend the President elected legitimately by direct vote by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the Constitutional Court committed a double illegality, stated Igor Dodon. According to him, the Court thwarted him in his attempts to stop a serious violation of the legislation and allowed this violation to be promoted by an acting President, IPN reports.

According to Igor Dodon, Silvia Radu cannot be named minister of health, labor and social protection. He made reference to a number of legal provisions saying that the candidate for a senior public post should have at least five years’ experience in the given area of activity. “These conditions are imposed on any candidate for a public post and it would be strange for a minister in charge of an area, which is a public post higher in rank than that of public functionary, not to meet the minimum requirements that apply to the inferiors,” Igor  Dodon wrote in a posting on Facebook.

As to Nicolae Ciubuc, who was proposed for minister of agriculture, regional development and environment,  Igor Dodon said this candidate does not meet the integrity criteria. “Those who are in power know very well about the illegalities committed by him, but anyway insist on his promotion to such an important post. I regret that instead of stopping the serious violations committed by the government, the Constitutional Court gives the go-ahead for their promotion. This generates questions as to the professionalism and independence of the Court’s judges,” wrote President Dodon, noting those who are in power and the institutions they control simply do not realize the gravity of their acts and of the consequences that will be witnessed.

The Constitutional Court on September 24 passed a judgement saying the Speaker of Parliament or the Premier will hold office of President on an interim basis to sign the decrees to name the two candidates for ministers whom Igor Dodon rejected after the Prime Minister fielded these for two times.
