The Parliament decisions to recognize the capture of the Constitutional Court (CC) and to remove  Domnica Manole from the post of CC judge are political-legal in character, noted the leader of the PSRM Igor Dodon, who in his Friday live program said that those who do not agree with such decisions can challenge them in court, IPN reports.

“In 2019, Manole didn’t go through a contest at the Government, Parliament or the SCM. She was excluded from the contest because Manole, according to Maia Sandu, was a corrupt person, as Olesea Stamate said. Today Parliament solved a problem dating from 2019. Is it legal or not? There is a legal procedure and this decision can be disputed,” said Dodon.

The Socialist leader formulated a message intended for the ambassadors of the EU and the U.S. in Chisinau. “Dear ambassadors, we follow the example of Zelensky. He recently removed the president of the CC and everyone kept silent. I didn’t see any statement signed by the EU ambassador,” started Dodon.

He criticized the PAS’s decision to mount protests. “Today’s events at the CC remind me of Vlad Plahotniuc in 2019, when he placed the people in tents, when we together with Maia Sandu voted on a statement concerning the usurpation of power in the state. Maia Sandu, don’t you think you adopted a similar approach? You say that Parliament usurped the power. Aren’t you ashamed? But who said that the Court’s decision will be disobeyed?” asked the leader of the PSRM.

Igor Dodon noted that the PSRM will obey the April 15 Constitutional Court’s decision concerning the dissolution of Parliament. “The PSRM will not challenge the CC’s decision of April 15, even if I do not agree with it. It is the CC’s decision and it is irrevocable. We are for holding snap elections in 2021. We invited to discussions to see how to call snap elections for several times. On March 16, we agreed with Maia Sandu on the snap elections, but she made other moves. We should have snap elections after we vaccinate the population. Elections in July, as you, Maia Sandu, want, will not take place,” stated Igor Dodon.
