The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said Dorin Chirtoaca will be the new Prime Minster and his appointment to post has been already negotiated. “I heard that an agreement between Ghimpu, Plahotniuc and Filat is to be signed soon. After Ghimpu made everything possible not to allow the Platform “Dignity and Truth” to demonstrate in central Chisinau, which posed a threat to the oligarchs, Plahotniuc does him a favor for his part,” Igor Dodon said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.

The leader of the PSRM said that Dorin Chirtoaca knows he will lose the City Hall in the first round of voting. Therefore, Mihai Ghimpu phoned Vladimir Plahotniuc in a panic to ask for solutions from him. As a result, Chiril Gaburici was called to the Prosecutor’s Office and told to resign so that Dorin Chirtoaca takes his place. “Chirtoaca is the future Prime Minister of the oligarchs. This thing was already agreed,” he stated.

According to Igor Dodon, by naming Dorin Chirtoaca as head of Government, they will make the stealing of another about 15 billion lei from the banking system possible. The PSRM calls on all the voters not to vote for the candidates fielded by the ‘oligarchs’. A solution to remedy the situation in the country is to hold early parliamentary elections and to name the head of state by direct vote.

As to the resignation of Chiril Gaburici, the Socialist leader said this played his role in March, when he signed a secret decision to allocate 5.6 billion lei to Banca de Economii, Banca Sociala and Unibank.

Shortly after Igor Dodon made these statements, the Liberal Party came with a reply, saying the PSRM admitted beforehand its defeat in the struggle for the Chisinau City Hall. “This is proven by the lies and speculations of Igor Dodon, according to which Dorin Chirtoaca will be the next Prime Minister of Moldova. We inform you that from next Monday, Dorin Chirtoaca will be again the mayor general of Chisinau municipality, while the person who will become Moldova’s Prime Minister will be chosen by the alliance formed by the PLDM, PCRM and PDM,” said the party.
