President Igor Dodon is concerned about "the growing dissatisfaction of citizens with the executive's activity". In a meeting with the Socialist Party group, the head of state has concluded that changes in the executive branch are needed as soon as possible".
I have requested a consultation with the Socialists on several issues that concern citizens: the lack of actions and results in the economic and social fields, the worrying crime rate increase, a dramatic reduction of the security of citizens, justice reform and strengthening of political stability", said Igor Dodon in a Facebook post.
Moreover, in a PSRM press release, it is said that the biggest concerns noted in the discussion are related to the serious deficiencies in the economic and social sectors, the total lack of vision and actions needed to solve the issues of citizens and the dramatic situation regarding citizen security, whose lives are endangered on a daily basis.
The press release said that it has been agreed to hold discussions with government and ministry officials, as well as parliamentary hearings and discussions with coalition partners, which aim to identify the best ways to streamline the government's activity. Additionally, the proposal to reshuffle inefficient ministers will be put forward during talks.
President Igor Dodon also spoke about justice reform with the PSRM group. They discussed about the problems that occurred while the reforms were implemented, about the critical elements in the Venice Commission's opinion piece on the concept proposed by the government and the confusion created around the Prosecutor General’s contest organized by the Ministry of Justice, namely "the way in which certain political actors are still trying to hijack this contest, while the contest failed to meet the legal deadline of November 1, when the government had to send the list of the four candidates who passed the pre-selection stage to the Superior Council of Prosecutors".
According to the PSRM, the topics discussed during the meeting with President Igor Dodon will be further analyzed at the Republican Council of the party, which will take place in the near future. "Appropriate political decisions to respect our commitment to citizens and to support a government that works for them" will be discussed at the Republican Council.
