Democratic MP Igor Corman on October 15 left his seat of MP. He said he took such a decision several months ago and intends to become involved in a large-scale foreign investment project, IPN reports.
Igor Corman said in Parliament that he hopes his decision will not be tied to political wars. He expressed his conviction that the country will overcome this period of painful transition and Moldova’s future will be a European one. He noted he will remain a supporter of the European course and by his future activity will make effort to contribute to the achievement of this desideratum.
Corman thanked the team of the Democratic Party, noting that he withdraws from politics, but if he decides to return, he will return as part of this team.
Also today, Parliament took cognizance of the resignation tendered by Socialist MP Ion Ceban, who chose to serve as a councilor in the Chisinau Municipal Council.
The MPs also approved the new composition of the Standing Bureau. Democratic MP Dumitru Diacov replaced his colleague Vlad Plahotniuc, who vacated his seat of MP at the end of July, while the head of the Liberal faction Mihai Ghimpu substituted Valeriu Munteanu, who was named Minister of Environment. The new composition also includes Lib-Dems Tudor Deliu and Iurie Tap, who replaced Vlad Filat and Valeriu Strelet.
