Head of Parliament Igor Corman proposed conducting a media campaign to inform the people about the conditions of traveling without visas to the European Union. The proposal was formulated in a meeting held in the Speaker’s native village Ciulucani, of Telenesti district, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from Parliament.

Igor Corman said the public TV channel “Moldova 1” should carry out a nationwide campaign to inform the people about the benefits of the European integration. The population must be informed about the conditions of traveling in the EU visa-free in an accessible language.

In the discussions, the Speaker said that Moldova committed itself to following the path to European integration and there is no other alternative for modernization, which would ensure better living conditions. After it is signed and ratified, the Association Agreement will facilitate the attraction of foreign investments to Moldova and will offer the Moldovan producers the possibility of accessing European funds. “The association with the EU will be a support for developing the economy and attracting foreign investors so as to improve the living standards,” stated Igor Corman.

He added that the liberalization of the visa regime between Moldova and the EU is a confirmation of the fact that Moldova did its homework.

Igor Corman said the choice between the West and the East is a false one, while the European integration represents the chosen development model that does not exclude the cooperation with the traditional Eastern partners.

The working visit to Ciulucani forms part of the series of weekly visits paid by the Head of Parliament to settlements to discuss local problems and projects with the people and the authorities.
