Head of Parliament Igor Corman on August 19 – 21 is paying a working visit to Vilnius, Lithuania, which holds the presidency of the European Union. He will have meetings with the administration of Lithuania and with a number of Lithuanian MEPs, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, Igor Corman will meet with the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, Seimas Speaker Vydas Gedvilas, and Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius.
The main subjects for discussion will center on the Moldovan-Lithuanian relations and Moldova’s European integration agenda before the November EaP Summit that will take place in Vilnius. At this summit, Moldova is expected to initial the Association Agreement with the EU.
The last official visit to Vilnius by a Speaker was paid in 2005.
