Political analyst Igor Botan considers the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” , the future Action and Solidarity Party of Maia Sandu and other parties are emerging forces, but they must comprehend the people’s message that a behavior similar to that of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Liberal Party when these were emerging forces, and now became the forces that simply undermine the European integration course of the country, will not be accepted, IPN reports.

“These new persons who appear now and want to take over the initiative must know that what is called civil society will not allow them to slip to oligarchy, corruption and so on. But this depends on our citizenship quality. And this citizenship quality will not be constituted and formed if we do not take an active part and do not state our opinion, if we do not take part in protests and in debates to see how these new politicians are like and if they will resist the temptations of the power because we know that the power corrupts. Those about whom we now speak in negative terms were our hope seven years ago,” Igor Botan stated in an interview for Radio Free Europe.

The analyst considers that Moldova has the government that it deserves. “We, the citizens of this country, behave so that this government permits itself such incidents as the one that happened in the Domneasca Forest, after which no one was punished, and the theft of US$1 billion, which represents 1/6 of the country’s GDP, after which we see only a scapegoat and nothing more. The dissatisfaction expressed by peaceful protests is our answer,” he said.

Igor Botan also said that he sees no other possibility for the citizens than to protest. The government behaves in the way that the people accept and only the people are to blame for the fact that the country has a poor government.
