The situation is very simple – the PSRM and ACUM should come to terms or the PDM will remain in power. If the PDM remains in power, there will be no place for other parties in the government, ex-MP Stela Jantuan stated in the program “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

“This means the Party of Socialists will also be disbanded after the snap elections and the Bloc ACUM will suffer very big losses. So, the stake is now very great,” stated Stela Jantuan. According to her, if a coalition is not formed, Moldova’s citizens will only lose.

Andrei Popov, director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives, said the period of three months after the parliamentary elections showed there are dynamics in society and what seemed impossible three-four months ago is now possible. Any kind of cooperation between the Bloc ACUM and the Party of Socialists was earlier excluded. Now society wants such cooperation and this is a powerful signal. The PSRM actually does not want such cooperation to really exist. “Igor Dodon repeatedly showed that he plays the game of Vlad Plahotniuc. It would be irresponsibility on the part of ACUM to says: “We will believe you once again,” stated Andrei Popov.

Political commentator Vlad Țurcanu noted the Socialists are looking for all kinds of pretexts to remain far from the denouement. “I think they felt obliged to take part in these discussions following the statements made by Dmitry Kozak, but not with the open heart. The Socialists would like to get rid of the Democratic Party’s grip, but with the hands of the Bloc ACUM. They do not have much maneuvering space,” stated the commentator.
