If losses remain uncovered, heat charge in Chisinau should be 900 lei, says Termocom SA

The heat supplier Termocom SA asks the Chisinau authorities to consider rising the heat charges at the next meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Info-Prim Neo reports. The commercial director of Termocom SA Mihai Arusoi made the request on January 28. He said that the company sustained losses of about 70 million lei last December, after the City Council decided to cancel the charge of 540 lei. Arusoi said that the company’s losses will rise by another 70 million lei in January. To recover the losses, they must be included in the new charge. If the losses remain uncovered, the new charge should be 900 lei. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said that the City Hall cannot include issues in the agenda of the CMC. He asked the commercial director of Termocom SA to submit such a proposal to the Council. After reducing the temperature of the heat supplied to the Chisinau residents, on January 14 Termocom SA resumed supplying heat according to the timetable of temperatures fixed for this period. The company’s administration announced then that it would suffer losses of 69 million lei for December alone if the municipal authorities do not continue to cover the difference in the tariff of 233 lei paid by the population and the cancelled tariff of 540 lei that was fixed early last year. Recently, the local authorities declared that they will cover the difference until CMC fixes a new charge for the heat supplied by Termocom SA.
