The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) annulled the contest that was to be held to issue two licenses for the provision of 3G networks and public services because no applications were filed by the November 1 deadline, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Agency, the radio frequencies/channels of the 1900-1980/2110-2170 MHz and the 2010-2025 MHz bands are to be distributed in accordance with the radio frequency management program for 2013 – 2020 that was approved by the Government.
Under the program, the taxes for issuing the two blocks of radio frequencies/channels were to be decided at tender contests. The price of the first license started from €6.2 million, while of the second license – from €2 million.
The period of validity of the licenses is 15 years. They allow installing, operating and managing a 3G public mobile communications network for providing public services based on terrestrial radio access technology standards.
Under the Law on Electronic Communications, at request the ANRCETI can put up the licenses for using frequencies/channels of the 1900-1980/2110-2170 MHz, 1900-1920 MHz and 2010-2025 MHz bands for contest repeatedly.
