ICT Ministry announces winners of “IT Youth – Future Starts with You!” contest

The jury of the contest “IT Youth – Future Starts with You!” selected 100 projects whose authors will take part in the IT 'camp' that will take place at the recreational base of the State Information Resources Center “Registru” during July 11 – 16, Info-Prim Neo reports. The young authors will present their projects, take part in workshops, meet IT experts and discuss with representatives of ICT companies, the press service of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology informed. More than 200 projects participated in the contest in the following sections: websites, applications and graphics. Half of the participants in the contest were high school students. ICT Minister Alexandru Oleinic said the contest contributed to the identification of future IT specialists and offered an additional chance to promote Moldova's ICT sector. The jury's head Victor Besliu said he was impressed by the professionalism of some of the participants. “They included not only university graduates,” said the chair of the Technical University's Information Technology Department. The “IT Youth – Future Starts with You!” contest is part of the ICT Ministry's Plan of Action aimed at developing the ICT sector in Moldova and promoting the Moldovan IT services abroad. The winners were selected by a commission composed of representatives of education institutions from Chisinau, Balti, Cahul and Comrat, managers, teachers and winners of the informatics Olympiads.
