“I read about the closing of legal cases every day and look attentively to see my name in those articles,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a news conference.
He said he will not accept that the given cases be stopped and closed by persons who now have no responsibility. “I will demand that the cases started against me by political order be finalized by those who investigated them and continue to work in the prosecutor's office and that they be sent to court. I will not let it go,” the Premier said.
Asked how many cases have been opened against him,Vlad Filat said that three. “I know about three cases. I was called before the election campaign and told about them. From other sources I found out that there had been about six cases more so that I was followed day and night,” he said.
The Premier also said he will insist that the court pass judgment in the given cases. “This issue is very important to me. Justice is fundamental in a democratic state and it must be administered not by prosecution officers. The cases investigated by them must be sent to court, which is to decide whether the person is guilty or not. Otherwise, those officers or the prosecutors could reopen the cases, as they do usually during election campaigns,” Vlad Filat said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
