If the voter, for health or other well-founded reasons, cannot go to the polling place, the electoral office of the polling place assigns at least two members of the office to go to the place of stay of the voter with a mobile ballot box and all the things needed for voting following the receipt of a relevant applictaion from the voter.

Applications concerning voting at the place of stay can be submitted in written form within two weeks before the election day and up to 6pm of the day before the election day. On the election day, applications can be filed in written form by 3pm if a medical certificate is presented. Only the persons with disabilities can request to be allowed to vote at the place of stay, including in verbal form.

The given persons vote based on the list of voters compiled by the electoral office of the polling place for voting at the place of stay in accordance with the submitted application. In the electoral register, “Has voted at the place of stay” is written against the name of the person. This does not yet apply to voting outside Moldova’s borders.
