The offering of money, goods, services or other benefits for the purpose of influencing the people to vote in a particular way in elections is punished with a fine of 200 to 500 conventional units (10,000 to 25,000 lei) or one to five years in jail. The legal entity is punished with a fine of 3,000 to 5,000 conventional units (150,000 to 250,000 lei), with ban on performing a particular activity or with liquidation.

This category of goods includes alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and food products. The symbols and emblems of electoral competitors with the name and surname of the candidate or with the name of the political party on them are not considered electoral agitation elements, made with money from the electoral fund. Among these are the posters, leaflets, postcards, notebooks, illustrations, pens, lighters, boxes of matches, insignias, name tags, CDs, DVDs, USB drives, flags, books, bags, T-shirts, caps, scarves. The value of a unit must not be higher than 2 conventional units, which is 100 lei.

The giving of electoral bribe is punishable, while the receipt of such bribe is not considered an offence.
