A man aged 45 and his wife of 33 from Rosu village of Cahul district were found dead in their cellar in the morning of October 11. According to preliminary reports, the two died poisoned by carbon dioxide emitted as a result of wine fermentation, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the two persons were taken out from the cellar by firefighters. The doctor of a SMURD team stated their death. It is known that the man went down into the cellar and had his leg stuck between wine barrels. His wife went to help him. The two were discovered by a relative who called the emergency services.
Rescuers warn about the importance of obeying the security rules and of the danger of staying long in rooms where the wine is being fermented. The rooms must be constantly aired so as to ensure ventilation ways.
