Beginning today and until February 28, fox hunting is allowed. Doves can be hunted until October 18, and quails until October 14, IPN reports.
On the territories of the Society of Hunters and Fishermen, hunting is allowed on Sundays and Saturdays, while in rented forests it is permitted during the week. Hunting is banned in state-protected natural areas and also on a radius of 500 meters from the border. Hunters must have special permits, issued for each participant by territorial subdivisions, and must strictly respect the boundaries of the ranges indicated in their permits.
Hunting quotas for foxes are unlimited, but huntsmen cannot shoot more than 15 doves per day. It is also strictly forbidden to shoot doves perched on phone lines, roofs and barns.
Quails can be hunted by individuals or by groups of up to three people per braque, retriver or spaniel dog, which must be registered at the Society of Hunters and Fisherman and have a passport issued by the organization.
Any violation of the rules, such as hunting without a permit or without a gun license or hunting in prohibited areas and periods, as well as using banned instruments, is punished with fines between 1000 and 2000 lei for individuals and 4000 to 8000 lei for people in positions of power.
