Hungary is for the abolition of the visa regime for Moldovans, Hungarian Ambassador in Chisinau Mátyás Szilágyi has said. The diplomat welcomed the conclusions of the European Commission’s fourth report of the implementation of the Plan of Action on Visa Liberalization with the EU of June 21, which shows that Moldova makes progress in achieving the European desiderata, IPN reports.
The statements were made in a meeting with Speaker Igor Corman. According to a communiqué from the Parliament’s press service, the officials discussed the latest developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, pleading for strengthening the dialogue between the sides involved in the talks. They highlighted the good relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, in particular on the interparliamentary dimension and between parliamentary groups and specialized commissions.
Mátyás Szilágyi welcomed the new cooperation form between the legislative and executive powers of Moldova, approving of the holding of the first meeting of coordination between the Government and Parliament. In the same connection, he underlined the importance of a constructive dialogue within the parliamentary majority and with the opposition for a better implementation of reforms, and of improving the legislation.
Igor Corman reiterated the parliamentary majority’s commitment to carrying out the reform agenda for advancing on the path to European integration.
The officials also discussed the possibility of the President of the National Assembly of Hungary Kover Laszlo paying a visit to Chisinau at the start of next year.
