Hungarian ambassador awarded Order of Honor

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Moldova Mihaly Bayer was conferred the Order of Honor, Info-Prim Neo learned from the presidential press service. The Hungarian ambassador received one of the highest awards of Moldova primarily for his personal contribution to opening the EU Common Visa Application Center in Chisinau. Vladimir Voronin highlighted that the Hungarian Embassy headed by Mihaly Bayer managed to ensure the successful running of the Center. According to the president, the setting up of the Center in Chisinau represents an important step towards opening the European community for the Moldovan people. At the same time, Vladimir Voronin thanked the Hungarian authorities for the consistent support they offered to the Moldovan authorities on the path to European integration. He said that while working in Moldova, Mihaly Bayer has essentially contributed to better Moldovan-Hungarian cooperation relations in different areas. Among the latest distinctions awarded by the President to international officials are the Civic Merit Medal – to IMF Executive Director Jeroen Kremers – and the Order of the Republic – to Greek President Karlos Papoulias.
