Hundreds of people gathered on Thursday, December 25, in the National Opera and Ballet Theater Square of Chisinau in order to celebrate Christmas, according to the Gregorian calendar. Though late, the concert announced by Chisinau City Hall, took place. The guests sang carols from an improvised stage, Info-Prim Neo reports. The equipment for the stage that was to be erected in the square was impounded by the employees of the Traffic Police that morning. Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, stated that regrets and doesn’t understand that “some people have such attitude to the Christmas Holiday and try to halt others rejoice at its atmosphere.” “I don’t believe that there is someone who doesn’t understand what it is about and how, unfortunately, losing contact with the reality, those who make these impediments, try on existing. To impose holidays doesn’t exist. There isn’t giving by force something good. What is good comes itself,” Dorin Chirtoaca said to the people gathered in the square. The mayor wished all the people from Chisinau had and celebrated “winter holidays full of kind atmosphere.” “For all of us this holiday means a new beginning, it is a chance God gives us to leave behind all that was more complicated and worse in the period that passed and resume it from the start, show that we can better and can bring more good things for all the citizens. We hope the normal state of things to come into our houses,” he said.
