More than 200 hectares of crops in the southern districts of Moldova were affected by last night’s rain with hail. The high winds took away the roof of a pig farm in Comrat municipality, IPN reports, with reference to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
In Capaclia village of Comrat district, the wind affected 4 hectares of vineyards, while in Copceac village the hail destroyed 120 hectares of sunflower and about 140 hectares of corn.
The rainstorm also caused damage in Terebna village of Edinet district, where the wind damaged the metallic tiles on the roof of the local secondary school.
The local commissions for emergencies are to gauge the extent of the caused damage.
