The voters who will present themselves at polling places on Novembers 1 will come with the own pen, with which to put the signature in the electoral registers. Protective face masks will be offered to them at the entrance by a person who will also measure their temperature. The voters will be recommended to disinfect their hands when entering and leaving the polling station.
Contacted by IPN for details, the head of the Public Relations and Mass Media Division of the Central Election Commission Rodica Sîrbu said the voters will present the identity card to the operator and will take off the mask for a short period of time so as to be identified. Later, the voter will approach the member of the electoral commission and will repeat the procedure. This will then sign with the own pen in the voter rolls. If the voter does not have a pen, he/she will be given a pen and this will be later disinfected. The loose leaf of the identity card will be placed on the table and the stamp with the date of elections will be put on it.
The voting is the next step. The stamps “Voted” in polling booths will be disinfected. The members of the electoral commission will wear masks, gloves and visors.
Rodica Sîrbu said that masks intended for voters will be distributed to the national polling stations together with the ballots. No masks will be transmitted to the polling stations that will be established abroad. The masks for the purpose will be bought by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
For the presidential elections of November 1, there were purchased protective equipment for all the 2,143 opened polling stations, namely 585,000 masks, over 320,000 pairs of gloves, 2,300 thermometers, about 27,000 liters of hand disinfectant and 14,500 liters of surface disinfectant. There were also bought 3 million protective masks for all the voters who will go to polling stations.
