The electors without registered domicile and residence will be able to vote in the parliamentary elections of February 24 for candidates from the national constituency and in the national consultative referendum at any polling place where they will be written on additional electoral lists. These will fill in and sign an own responsibility statement concerning refraining from multiple voting. A decision to this effect was approved by the Central Election Commission in its January 15 meeting, IPN reports.

CEC president Alina Russu said the students with the right to vote enrolled at an education institution where they do not have the domicile or residence will be able to vote in elections for candidates from the national constituency and in the referendum at any of the polling places established in that locality when presenting the identity card and the student‘s card. If they have the domicile or residence in the single-member constituency where the education institution they attend is situated, they could also vote a candidate in the given single-member constituency.

Under the decision, the electors with the right to vote who on the election day will be in hospitals, resorts or sanatoriums situated in another locality than their place of residence could vote for candidates in the national constituency and in the referendum. If they have the domicile or residence in the same single-member constituency, they could also vote for a candidate in the single-member constituency by being put on the additional list or can also ask to be allowed to vote at the place.

The same conditions apply to the persons held on remand and those held in jails based on a non-definitive sentences, convicts held in a locality where they do not have the domicile or residence and also to soldiers doing their military service. Those who are under house arrest can asks for the mobile ballot box by informing the bodies that supervise them.
