On several trolleybus and bus routes in the capital city, the fare can be paid through stationary validators. Immediately after payment, the traveler receives a notification confirming payment in the bank’s application or by SMS. Payment through the validator can be demonstrated to the ticket collector by bringing the card or device with which the fare was paid close to the POS terminal. The collector will receive a notification confirming the cashless payment, IPN reports, with reference to the Chisinau City Hall.

Currently, the passengers can pay by bank card, phone or smart watch at stationary validators installed in the trolleybuses running on routes No. 22, 23, 24 and 30 and also on buses running on routes Nr. 2 and 5.

The municipality specified that the POS mobile terminal owned by the collector is only a tool for verifying the electronic payment made through the validator. It does not withdraw money from the account.

At the same time, the travelers are urged not to keep their phone, watch or card close to the validator. “This can withdraw money if you don’t intend to pay for the trip through the validator. Be cautious, especially if you own an Android phone and have your cards attached to Google Wallet,” the municipality warned.
